Alici is a seafood restaurant inspired by the south of Italy and the Amalfi Coast. With the name meaning ‘anchovies’ in Italian, it gives a hint as to what this spot focuses on. The restaurant aims to bring more than just the recipes of the South of Italy to Dubai, but also to evoke memories of long-gone summers spent by the sea. A perpetual aroma of lemon and olive trees wafts through the restaurant, and extraordinary views of the ocean are complemented by characterfully crafted pieces of furniture from Italy’s most skilled creators. When sitting in the restaurant you almost feel like you are relaxing on the shores of Amalfi coast itself (perhaps complete with a glass of Aperol in hand).
The whole style of the restaurant is minimalist but cosy, with the bright and airy dining room spread out over two floors. Both floors also happily offer large terraces. Almost every seat - wherever your table is - can glimpse the picturesque water view and the bustle of boats and yachts floating around below. Alici offers a range of private dining experiences and is happy to customise menus, table setups, drinks, service and more depending on your preference. Space can be found for as few as two guests and for as many as 120 for hosting holiday parties, business functions, birthdays, proposals or any other special events.
The menu at Alici naturally focuses on seafood with a few token meat dishes. Whatever you choose, everything is cooked simply to showcase the incredible flavours of the best Italian ingredients that are used by the kitchen. The restaurant is passionate about the quality of its seafood and even has regular shipments flown in from Italy for allow for special dishes of the day. The must-eat dishes include lobster pasta, ricciola and fresh fired alici.
The restaurant also offers a great selection of cocktails and over 250 world-class wine collections from the major wine regions. The wine list contains several labels from South Italy, which are mainly organic white wines - the perfect pairing for seafood.
