Madang, located on the popular Al Ghazal Golf Club, is widely regarded as one of the best Korean restaurants in Abu Dhabi. The golf course itself is pretty unique as the world's leading sand course, also offering a range of other sports including tennis, yoga and jogging too. Inside, you'll find traditional Korean furnishings, where you can enjoy authentic dishes such as Korean fried chicken, K-BBQ and desserts such as bingsu.
Step in from the heat to the cool interiors, decorated with calligraphy, traditional screen doors and shiny wood floors. The friendly staff will be happy to explain the menu to you and your guests, including the various set menus that are incredibly good value. If you are with colleagues or clients, the business lunch set menu is available all day. Choose one of the five special dishes, each served with fried chicken, bulgogi (marinated beef) and tea or coffee with seasonal fruit. Options include ramen, bibimbap, la galbi (short rib), godeong eo (grilled mackerel) and sogoi gukbap (spicy beef soup with rice). Elsewhere on the a la carte menu, you'll find more Korean classics like kimchi pancakes, hot pot rice, beef sashimi with egg yolk or octopus noodles. Of course, if you don't include some Korean BBQ in your private meal, you are missing out. Korean BBQ, or K-BBQ, involves cooking various marinated meat, seafood yourself at the table. It's a great social activity, ideal for groups and newcomers to Korean cuisine.
Newcomers also won't be familiar with bingsu, a classic Korean shaved ice dessert. At Madang, you'll find extravagant bingsu for the table, piled high with sweet mango or red bean paste. Be sure to try the soju too, a tasty distilled drink not unlike vodka.
