Maiden Shanghai, one of Dubai's hottest Chinese restaurant is located in the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah. The restaurant showcases a tempting fusion of traditional dishes with a modern twist. Awarding-winning Chef Luo Bing (the former head chef of Hutong in London, no less) is inspired by four prominent Chinese cuisines - Cantonese, Sichuan, Shanghai and Beijing - and creates distinctive, MSG-free organic dishes by using the finest ingredients and his outstanding culinary skills.
Overlooking some of the best skyline views of the city, the restaurant is spread over three floors with picturesque outdoor lounge ‘Maiden Terrace’ allowing for al fresco dining, the exclusive private dining rooms that are surrounded by 360º floor-to-ceiling windows to take full advantage of the scenery, and the main restaurant with its buzzing bar. With dark paneled walls, oriental furnishings and a general sultry atmosphere, the decor playfully fuses the traditional with the contemporary, creating spaces for diners to fully immerse themselves in the food, drinks, and unique ambiance.
Depending on what the venue is needed for, the private dining room (with its option for karaoke!) can cater for up to 10 diners. The karaoke room should be booked in advance, which is perfect for a lively celebration like a hen party, birthday celebration or anniversary bash. On the other hand, it is also ideal for business lunches or fun group evenings out with friends and families - a truly flexible option for private dining in Dubai. For larger gatherings, the restaurant can plan events and also hosts the best Friday brunchesand an award-winning ladies’ night.
The food here has a great variety to choose from, including signature dishes such as Peking Duck and a series of Sichuan Kung Pao dishes. There’s also a great amount of other much-loved options, such as sweet and sour chicken, tiger prawn dumplings with deluxe black truffle and Angus beef in black bean sauce.
