MAZI is a Greek restaurant that initially started out life in London’s Notting Hill in 2012, when it was launched by entrepreneurs Christina and Adrien who wanted to demonstrate just how innovative, refined and tasty Greek food can be. They succeeded, and have since expanded across the globe to Abu Dhabi where they’ve opened a second MAZI restaurant in the St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort. Rather fittingly, Mazi means ‘together’ in Greek, and its entire ethos is built around bringing people together over great food and world-class drinks. Needless to say, MAZI is well suited to private dining events, offering its own dedicated private dining room for family and friends to celebrate over its contemporary Greek menu.
MAZI's private dining room is a smart and sophisticated space for special occasions, intimate events and family escapes. The room can hold up to 14 guests around a single table, while the décor is luxurious and sultry, boasting deep mahogany floors and furniture, brick walls and a vast staircase where guests descend into the room.
The menu is based around a sharing style of dining with guests invited to mix and match a variety of small and large plates. Expect contemporary dishes where classic flavours are given a playful lift. Lighter dishes span raw plates and salads, with examples being sea bass tartare with avocado mousse and squid ink puff rice, kavourosalata with handpicked white crab and spicy creamy sauce and whole langoustine with citrus dressing.
Slightly larger ‘main’ dishes are separated into hot plates, pasta and rice and wood and charcoal. Look out for shredded lamb tacos with cumin yoghurt, feta tempura with lemon marmalade and caper meringue, artichoke risotto, chicken thigh souvlaki skewers and jumbo prawns with saganaki sauce. Do note that a gluten-free menu is also available.
