The name comes from, 21grams - which is the weight of a human soul, and 21 degrees - the latitude of the Balkan Peninsula. This is a restaurant that offers an authentic dining experience bringing the taste of the Balkans to Dubai. Operating and creative partner Stasha, hopes to show the culture, diverse ethnicities and cuisine that come from the Balkan Peninsula, drawing on her own heritage to turn the dream into a reality. This cozy urban bistro is a place for friends and groups to gather and celebrate the simple things in life.
All-dishes and pastries have been created using family recipes, and are served by a Balkan-native team. Traditional recipes are produced with a modern twist, by 21Grams’ very own Balkan Bedouin chef, containing freshly-sourced ingredients, and a whole lot of love.
Offerings baked goods, breakfast, small plates and ‘soul food’ for larger plates. Think brunch bestie with sunny-side up egg with pulled beef, baked sour cabbage, sweet potato rosti or homemade pita bread with feta cheese mousse, cherry tomatoes, red grape, spinach, onion for breakfast. Small plates see baked beetroot carpaccio, chicken bone broth with homemade noodles, chicken meat and carrots, and then there’s also grilled prawns with greek spice, dry white wine reduction, butter and herb crumbs. For soulfood, you can expect dishes like pljeskavica which is a wagyu beef patty stuffed with beef bacon and cheese, with moravian salad and spring onion, or sarma which is sour cabbage rolls stuffed with minced beef, served with smoked brisket. If it’s seafood you’re after, there is also a catch of the day with fresh market fish and seafood. For desserts think chocolate hazelnut baklava with vanilla ice cream, princess crepe rolls with clotted cream mousse, dried fruit compote and almonds, or a walnut strudel with homemade pastry roll with walnut filling
