Black Flamingo at the Radisson Beach resort is an all-day dining destination celebrating the vibrant culture of the Caribbean and Latin America, with fusion dishes, lively music and glamorous interiors. Aiming to transport you to the lavish beach clubs of Miami, the décor is true maximalism with abundant neon pink and turquoise finishes, velvet seating, marble tables and a glitzy patterned bar. Shimmering chandeliers are hung from the ceilings, which are decorated with oversized flamingos. If you fancy making the most of the sunshine, be sure to nab a spot on the retro terrace which also boasts stunning views of the beach and palm.
The menu, developed by chef Reif Othman, is a seamless blend of Latin and Creole dishes, refined with Othman’s imaginative twists to take diners on a journey across the continents. Start off with some dips and chips and a starter like croquetas, beef empanadas or crispy squid, or keep it light with a plate of crudo. As the menu is designed to be shared, try a selection of fresh tacos such as mixed beans, shrimp and beef skirt. Chicken wings and tenders can be ordered in either six or nine pieces and come with vegetable sticks, ranch dressing and your choice of sauce at a variety of spice levels. Keep it mild with honey mustard, go for the classic jerk sauce or, if you’re feeling brave, try the Carolina Reaper sauce, made with the world's hottest pepper.
For the main event, large sharing plate ‘fondos’, are available and include hearty delights like lamb racks, seabass frito or currasco a lo pobre. Finish with a serving of strawberry churros, rum plantain fondant or sweet potato pudding for an authentic and satisfying end to your meal. Keep the good vibes going afterwards and stay a while longer to enjoy the resident DJs and special guests churning out Afro beats, Reggaeton and R&B.
