The Café Bateel story starts in the small Saudi Arabian town of Al Ghat - Bateel was originally a date producer, growing and supplying high quality dates. Since opening its first cafe in 2007, Cafe Bateel has spread all over Dubai, proving incredibly popular with those who want an easy, all-day cafe and restaurant.
Cafe Bateel at the Mall of the Emirates is one of the group's biggest locations, with an expansive menu to match. Bateel effortlessly switches vibes from coffees, pastries and cooked breakfasts, to a sophisticated lunch and dinner with easy, friendly service. Things kick off in the morning with eggs galore - as omelettes, scrambled, in shakshuka, or as eggs Benedict or eggs Royale, and there's lots of fresh fruit, granola, acai bowls and other healthy morning choices. The menu focuses on healthy starts to the day, but there's also a fantastic date French toast if you're feeling like a treat.
The main menu also has somewhat of a healthy focus, with a wide range of soups (roasted pumpkin, asparagus, mushroom, minestrone) and salads (King prawn and mango, Bateel green bowl, superfood and avocado Caesar) on offer. On top of that you'll find sandwiches, pasta and risotto dishes, and delicious mains like a pan-seared black cod with Basque-style chickpeas, and Wagyu beef meatballs with Umbrian lentils, burrata and pomodoro sauce. There's something for everyone on the huge Cafe Bateel menu, and if you want to spoil yourself, peruse the dessert menu for treats like tiramisu, date cake, chocolate brownie and lemon tart.
