Bringing artisanal dining to Dubai Mall, Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet serves up a truly global menu for hungry shoppers. The original outlet was opened in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, but now the department store has locations all over the world. Le Gourmet is the chain's cafe, deli and restaurant, where diners and shoppers can fill their bags with international groceries or settle in for a lavish meal. This branch has a relaxed, modern feel, with plush red sofas, varnished wood tables and plenty of windows flooding the space with natural light. The counter runs along one side of the restaurant, piled high with delicious products and dishes.
There is a huge selection here, ranging from sushi to pizza. As such, you might start off with spring rolls and crispy wontons, edamame and tempura shrimp, hot and cold mezze, samosas and pav bhaji or burrata and calamari. The choice is yours. If you are visiting in the morning, there are healthy options like granola and acai bowls available, as well as more indulgent entries like eggs Benedict, crispy fried eggs or breakfast wraps. For those just popping by for a quick bite, there are sandwiches too, including spicy tuna, turkey ham and cheese or caprese.
The main course selection is similarly global, including grilled dishes, curries, sushi platters and the like. Italian food takes up most of the menu real estate, so be sure to try the pasta, pizza or risotto on your visit. Highlights include a spicy chicken pizza, seafood risotto and rigatoni bolognese. If that doesn't sound filling enough, there is a selection of sides like French fries or sauteed broccoli for you to supplement your meal with. There is also a children's menu with options like a Margherita pizza, tomato spaghetti or fish fingers to keep the little ones happy and fed.
