On the hunt for great vegetarian food in Sharjah? Kamat is one of the city's few restaurants dedicated entirely to vegetarian cooking. Originally established in 1992, Kamat first opened its doors in Dubai with the intention of serving gourmet veggie food in a comfortable and relaxed setting. It now boasts seven branches in locations across Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
Taking inspiration predominantly from the Indian subcontinent, the menu offers over 360 veg-based dishes. From the bold flavours of north India to the lighter, fragrant delicacies found in the south, it’s possible to experience a whistlestop tour of India’s diverse cuisine at Kamat. You’ll also find a selection of over 60 Chinese dishes on the menu, along with exciting fusion dishes which offer something new.
The snack selection is something to behold in itself, with over 30 different kinds of dosa up for grabs. Enjoy the classic crisp pancake filled with potato and served with coconut chutney and sambar (masala dosa), or opt for something a little different with fillings such as paneer, lentils or spinach. If you're dining for lunch, a selection of grilled sandwiches and chaats are perfect for lighter eating. While more substantial dishes available throughout the day include kebabs, sauce-based curries, rice dishes, breads, soups and sides. If you’re in the mood for Chinese, you can also find a selection of noodles, stir fry's and rice dishes on the menu.
To drink, take your pick from a range of refreshing fruit juices and mocktails, while milkshakes, falooda and lassis would all make a deliciously indulgent treat.
