Oak Room is a sleek and sophisticated steakhouse which is found at The Abu Dhabi location of Edition Hotels, who have sites in London, New York, Shanghai and other glamorous locations around the globe.
Oak Room is a stylish space with an old-school Britannia sort of feel, featuring wood panelled walls, high ceilings and cosy tub chairs in shades of brown leather and peacock blue. The room’s allure is enhanced by the on-site butchery where you can see the chefs at work, which is wrapped in a frosted glass frontage.
The Oak Room’s menu has been designed by British chef Tom Aikens, who holds the title of the youngest ever British chef to be awarded two Michelin stars, achieving the feat at the tender age of just 26. On the menu, you can expect to find a selection of appetisers, followed by speciality steaks with sides, and tempting puddings for dessert.
Kickstart your meal with a starting dish of seared scallops with piccalilli or tuck into a mini spiced beef pizza. Next up, move on to the range of speciality steaks which features cuts such as Wagyu ribeye, Black Onyx Tenderloin and USDA prime ribeye, completed by side dishes including steamed broccoli or triple-cooked chips topped with black truffle shavings and parmesan.
Round off your meal with one of the Oak Room’s indulgent desserts, such as sticky toffee date pudding served with sticky toffee ice cream or an apple and blackberry crumble with custard. Those of a savoury persuasion can opt for the selection of British cheeses, which is served with an assortment of biscuits, crackers, pickled apricots and fruit chutney.
Post-dinner, we’d recommend heading to the Oak Room’s dedicated bar area, which is known for serving a range of wines by the glass. If you’re not a lover of vino though, you can always try one of the fun sips from the cocktail list, or keep things simple with a soft drink.
