The name ‘Petek’ means honeycomb in Turkish, which is fitting given the wealth of sweet treats available at this stylish restaurant near The Mall World Trade center. From baklava to Turkish delight, cookies, kunefe, ice cream and cakes, Petek is the destination for those with a sweet tooth. That’s not all this family-run restaurant has to offer though – Petek is also known for its authentic Turkish cuisine, available throughout the day from breakfast right through to the early hours of the morning.
Located on the ground floor of the Rolex Building, this branch of Peteks is vast and beautiful, with tiled floors, ornate windows and plush sky blue seating. Light floods the dining room, which is as suited to family get-togethers as it is to business lunches and dinners. Peteks is also well-known for its great attention to detail when it comes to ingredients and relies on traditional recipes for the preparation of its dishes. Here you’ll find the best quality nuts, as varieties such as pistachio, pecan and hazelnut are integral to Turkish cooking, and fresh, homemade bread baked in the on-site brick oven.
There aren’t too many choices for breakfast, but guests can still look forward to the likes of a full Anatolian breakfast, sautéed pastrami topped with sunny-side up eggs, or traditional Turkish scrambled eggs with peppers and tomatoes. The lunch and dinner menu, on the other hand, is vast, meaning locals can visit regularly without doubling up on dishes. It’s split into sections as follows: appetisers, soups, mezzes, salads, donor, grills and kebabs, oven-baked stews, specials, rice and bulgur, pasta and manti, pides, steaks, burgers and borek. There’s also a separate kids menu and a thorough dessert menu, hot and cold drinks list and cocktail menu. Look out for set menus and offers available throughout the week.
