Puerto 99 brings a slice of Mexico to Dubai at this seafood and grill restaurant. Known for its party atmosphere as much as it is the food, this is a spot not to miss on a trip out on the town. Pull up a seat at the terrace, pop on your sombrero, and enjoy scenic views of the waterfront and city skyline whilst tucking in to plenty of tacos and tortilla chips. The venue comes to life at night, with sparklers making their way to tables, and the buildings opposite lighting up to cast a glow across the water. Adding to the atmosphere, there is also the in-house saxophonist and band to help get the party started.
You can expect all of the Mexican favourites on the menu, like guacamole, Chicharron de rib eye and lamb birria, along with the plenty of delicious seafood options that are up for grabs. Think mezquite oyster gratin, lobster tacos and shrimp ceviches to get your shellfish fix, along with options like Guajillo Chilli Octopus, spicy tuna tostada and chipotle brown crab.
The desserts are limited, but all very decadent, with options like cinnamon rolls with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, arroz con leche - a vanilla spiced riced pudding with cinnamon fritters - and mole chocolate lava cake, which is served alongside some vanilla ice cream.
If you plan to sample the drinks menu whilst you’re there, don’t forget to try some of the Mexican themed cocktails on offer, like the Jalapeño Loco that is made up of 100% blue agave Tequila, fresh Lime, Peach syrup and Jalapeño, or the Mexcal Negroni with Cynar and Sweet Vermouth. Whatever you do, make sure you book in for Taco Tuesday, so you can work your way through the tempting menu and sip on free flowing beer, flavoured margaritas and soft drinks during the special weekly deal.
