It’s hard to think of a more well-regarded hotel group than Raffles. Famous the world over, this Dubai outpost is just as luxurious and well thought through as its global sibling sites. Found slightly back from Dubai Creek, the hotel’s striking architecture and convenient location make it similarly as popular with families as it does with professionals travelling for work.
Raffles Salon is at the heart of the hotel, found in the lobby, and stretches along the stunning marble-clad hall. Here you’ll find comfortable armchairs gathered around low tables, the perfect place to unwind after a busy afternoon of meetings or a day of sightseeing. It’s open from 8am-12am every day, so whatever you fancy there should be something to suit. From coffees and breakfast items in the morning through to late-night snacks, the far-reaching menu covers all eventualities.
Kick things off with the international breakfast menu – which ranges from Arabian classics like Arabic bread with dates, shakshuka scrambled eggs, and plates of hummus, labneh, pickles and raw vegetable crudites through to the American section which deals in pancakes, poached eggs or fry ups. For something a little lighter there’s seasonal fresh fruit and pastries as well as an a la carte egg selection.
Later on, the lunch bento boxes are popular with guests. These focus on various cuisines – like Asian, Italian, Indian and Arabian - and offer a selection of small dishes to try within that style. The Asian box, for instance, includes spicy Thai mango salad, jasmine rice, stir fried black pepper beef skewers and tropical fruit for dessert.
If you’re ready to take a load off and enjoy a few hours in this luxurious space, the afternoon teas are wonderful too. There are special children’s serves for little ones, and all of them come with layers of treats.
Come the evening there’s a full drinks list available, from wine and beer through to spirits and softs.
