Sure, golf is all well and good, but the real reason we hang about such country clubs? The food of course. Ranches Restaurant is one of two eateries at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club and serves up a casual menu of comforting crowd pleasers.
This is truly an all-inclusive space, with a kids’ playground on hand to keep little ones entertained while you enjoy the spoils that are being sent out by the kitchen. You have the option to dine inside or out, depending on the weather, and there are stunning views of the fairways from every angle to enjoy while you relax at Ranches Restaurant.
Interiors are kept crisp and contemporary with beautiful herringbone floorings creating a spacious expanse throughout. Tables and chairs in neutrals are only offset by large real trees planted up in huge containers and illuminated by brushed brass pendant lighting, while bright and breezy curtains maintain a coolness.
During the day there are plenty of sandwiches on the menu to keep hunger at bay. Plump for a pulled pork bap with BBQ glaze and slaw for a taste of America or go for a classic club if you’re craving a sports club staple – Ranches’ iteration includes chicken, bacon and egg. If you’re after something a little more substantial there are also pizza and pasta options, which span favourites like margarita and carbonara, as well as more unusual combinations like a beet pesto, kale and goat’s cheese serve. Dinnertime sees even more on the menu, with meat taking centre stage (although there are vegetarian and vegan options too). Tempting sounding dishes include a grill which features lamb cutlets, a black angus fillet, tandoori chicken, lamb merguez, tiger prawns, sausages, salmon, sweet potato fries and baby spinach salad – phew. If you can finish all that there is a tempting selection of sweets on offer too.
