Finding a good steak in Abu Dhabi isn’t hard, but finding a great one can be a little trickier. Rodeo Grill say they take the ‘art of steakmanship’ seriously, and this translates to their menu of premiere cuts of top quality meat.
A Josper grill is at the heart of the operation, which gives everything a wonderfully rich, charred smokiness thanks to the wood used to fire the oven, resulting in that all-important crust on your steak. Pick from a measured selection of things like a master kobe tenderloin, an Argentine rib eye or a US T-bone. Our suggestion though? Go all on on a Black Angus tomahawk that is bourbon flamed, weighs in at over a kilo and is carved table-side for two people - pure theatre. Once you’ve selected your meat you have the choice of various sides and sauces; grilled vegetables and corn on the cob offer saintly suggestions for those trying to be good while truffle mash and bernaise sauce turn your steak into a luxuriously rich meal if you decide to treat yourself.
For pescatarians and vegetarians there are options too; a glazed salmon with a sriracha glaze, a Chilean seabags dressed with smoked avocado and a buttery truffle risotto spiked with mushrooms and Parmesan cheese, for instance.
The dining room is a rich combination of warm wooden floor and panelled walls with ambient lighting coming from sculptural gold lamps. The seating is clustered in booths to one side, with curved backs and sumptuous grey upholstery, and tables surrounded by high-back leather chairs in the central space.
Rodeo Grill is only open for dinner, and situated in Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi, which is a five star hotel right on the waterfront, so make sure not to miss the view before you sit down for your meal.
