SALT started out as a humble food truck on Kite Beach in Dubai, with the simple aim of providing locals and visitors with a wholesome offering of fast-food favourites made from real ingredients. It proved so popular and gained such a reputation that the masses of crowds became too much for it to handle solely as a pop-up enterprise.
Now the business boasts a large dining space and beach house resort to cater for its crowds with ease, and encourage people to slow down, sit-back and enjoy their surroundings whilst tucking into their famous fodder. The vibe is still rustic and relaxed with crate style tables and benches dotted on the sand under the palms. SALT sees itself as more than just an eatery – it’s a lifestyle brand encouraging people to take time out, reconnect with one another and appreciate the environment around them with the sand between their toes and the soothing sounds of the sea.
The menu is concise – they know their craft and they execute it well. The original slider sees a 2oz Wagyu beef patty topped with melted cheese, original salt and pickle slices in a butter bun. For something with a bit of fire the ‘Hook’ is similar but with the addition of jalapenos and lettuce. If beef’s not your bag then try the chicken Cheetos instead – deep fried chicken, melted cheese and Cheetos in a butter bun. Fries are skinny and crisp with optional additions of cheese, pickles, jalapenos, and of course plenty of salt.
Finally for dessert there are two options of soft-serve ice cream to choose from; original or Lotus. Not a fan of a softie? The drinks list also comprises a selection of shakes that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth, or for a total palette cleanser go for a refreshing mint lemonade or mojito iced tea.
