This beachside dining destination brings the cultures and flavours of the Caribbean to the shores of Dubai. Inspired by 'tomoka', the legendary rum-running boat that brought the flavours of Latin American to the US in the roaring 20's, the venue plays tribute to its history by bringing the Caribbean carnival spirit to Dubai with its Latin-American menu, old-fasioned rum infusions and great range of signature and classic cocktails.
Drawing on the waterside theme, the restaurant is filled with natural colours, woven chairs and fresh greenery. A hint of the carnival spirit is provided by the splash of colour in the cushions and the bar set directly on the beach. This adult-only bar embraces the beach vibe with comfortable loungers and an exciting mixology served late in to the evening.
Kick things off with a little bit of heat that is sure to get you in the carnival spirit - the shredded chicken buns are served with a spicy chipotle sauce while crispy calamari is seasoned with salt, pepper, chilli and lime. There is no better place to enjoy fresh seafood than by the beach so make sure to check out the traditional ceviche dishes; plus if you can't decide on just one, the restaurant lets you pick a taster of three signature ceviches.
Mains feature a range of traditional cooking techniques including baked dishes, whole baked sharers in the earth oven or a selection of meats off the grill. Highlights include the roasted pork belly with a burnt onion puree and pineapple mojo and the whole baked sea bass in banana leaf, served with a brown shrimp salsa.
Finish it all off with traditional rum cake and caramelised banana or a taste of the tropics in the pineapple carpaccio. Don't miss out on watching the sunset at the beach bar while you sip on a Caribbean pina colada with a luxury, fizzy, Dubai twist.
