If you’re a fan of pan Asian food and love to get your fix of flavours from all over the far east, then you’re going to love Teatro. This Abu Dhabi based restaurant embraces everything from Thai and Indian cuisine through to Japanese and Chinese. Heck, there are even a few Italian things thrown in for good measure. With so much choice, this is a great spot to head to with a mixed group, ensuring everyone can find something they love.
Part of the appeal at Teatro – as the name suggests – is the theatre of the experience. You’ll find dramatic interiors with dark and moody tones used throughout to create an air of mystery. Little touches, like beaded crystal features and Venetian masks really set the scene for an evening of good times. For an extra dash of excitement, head to the sushi counter or demo kitchens to soak up some live cooking right in front of your eyes.
As suited to the theme, the menu kicks off not with starters but with ‘opening scenes’. Here you’ll find everything from charred sesame octopus and hand cut tuna tartare through to tom yum broth and miso soup. If you prefer to experience everything as a group, the sharing selection offers up tempura, spring rolls and chicken satay bites alongside a full range of both steamed and fried dumplings.
Main dishes run from ramen through to grill specials with highlights in the latter category including jumbo prawns and rib eye steak. Alternative mains like pad Thai and Shanghai noodles are perennially popular, as are the richly spiced Indian curries like butter chicken or dal makhani.
Sushi lovers are well catered for too, via platters of sushi tacos, signature rolls and sashimi which are made with the finest ingredients and expert care from the in-house chefs.
