Before becoming a worldwide sensation, Texas de Brazil started its journey in Porto Alegre, Brazil. In southern Brazil, local cowboys called gauchos prepare churrasco - feasts comprising of skewered meats, slow-roasted over open flames, served alongside seasonal vegetable dishes and regional delicacies. One such gaucho recognised that Brazilian churrasco would be a perfect combination with the high-quality beef of Texas and so, Texas de Brazil was born.
Since then, Texas de Brazil has spread all over the world, and today it has multiple locations in the UAE, including this large location in the huge Mall of the Emirates. The beauty of Texas de Brazil is that there's little in the way of ordering; guests receive a card that is red on one side and green on the other - turn the card to green and servers will come round and serve you sizzling beef, lamb, pork, chicken and Brazilian sausage as it comes off the live grill. When you want to take a break, just turn the card over to red to let servers know that you don't need any food just now. All the meats are cooked in typical churrasco style, and roasted slowly over open flames. On top of that, there's a wide array of salads, roasted vegetables, imported cheese and charcuterie to enjoy alongside your meat, as well as bread baked in-house, garlic mashed potatoes, feijoada black beans, and friend bananas.
Leave a bit of room for dessert too, which includes some typical Brazilian sweets like Brazilian cheesecake, papaya cream, flan and bananas Foster. Texas de Brazil is also a great place to enjoy a drink, whether it's a glass of wine, a beer or a classic Brazilian caipirinha.
The Mall of the Emirates location also handles takeaway orders, so you can grab all your favourite meats and sides and take them home with you after a long day at the mall.
