Located inside the luxurious Burj Al Arab Hotel, part of the Jumeirah Hotel Group, Al Muntaha is an Italian and French fine dining restaurant offering panoramic views of the city below. The hotel itself is a unique building with a curved structure designed to resemble the sail of a ship and is one of the tallest hotels in the world with 59 floors. You can find the restaurant on the 27th floor which, although is only half way up the building, still offers breath-tasting views of Dubai while you dine.
Heading up the kitchen is Saverio Sbaragli, who previously trained under three-Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse and earned a Michelin star while working as executive chef at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva. He also worked at the three-Michelin-starred L’Arpege in Paris.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, with a set menu available for lunch or a six-course tasting menu and an la carte (starters, mains, desserts) offering in the evening. The dishes are refined and elegant and offer a contemporary spin on French-Italian cuisine. If choosing from the a la carte menu, you might like to start with St. Jacques scallops served with root vegetables, horseradish and beetroot consomme, or salmon trout with yoghurt sauce and escabeche vinaigrette. A concise selection of main courses include roasted free-range poulette de bresse with salsify, morel mushroom and foie gras sauce, and wild sea bass with Jerusalem artichokes and aromatic herbs. To finish, guests can opt between cheese (a range of unpasteurised farm cheeses) or dessert. Sweet options include Il Latte which comprises biscuit, dulce de leche and goat cheese emulsion, or The Pear which sees a hazelnut and pear tart served with honey roasted pear and d’isigny ice cream.
The drinks menu comprises a collection of classic and contemporary cocktails, beers, ciders and premium wines and champagnes.
