Located in the luxury Habtoor Palace hotel in central Dubai, this restaurant is the epitome of Parisian chic with a menu inspired by French bistro classics. The high ceilings, chandelier lighting and shades of white, cream and bottle green lend to the sophistication, whilst the large windows, spacious layout and vibrant flower arrangements create an atmosphere that’s both relaxed and welcoming. The elegant marble bar is an enticing spot for a pre-dinner glass of bubbles or a late night tipple, where guests can soak in the bustling atmosphere and admire the impressive Art Deco interiors.
The authentic menu begins with a list of typical entrées – snails in garlic butter; sea bass tartare with oysters and caviar; foie gras with seasonal chutney served on brioche toast. The range of salads and soup also make great options for a light and quick lunch. The Plats de Resistance are luxurious interpretations of traditional French dishes. Boeuf Bourguignon is made with Wagyu beef cheeks and a saffron risotto is accompanied by fresh lobster and a tarragon bisque. For something lighter look for the pan roasted sea bass fillet with mint couscous, baby spinach and a classic sauce vierge; or the Bouillabaisse fish soup served with sea bass, salmon, mussels, clams and prawns.
The dessert list is an equally fitting homage to classic French cooking. Diners can choose from profiteroles au chocolat, served with vanilla ice cream and a rich hot chocolate sauce; pain perdu with a decadent sea salt caramel sauce; or for something savoury, a selection of French cheeses with dried and fresh fruit. If the choice is too overwhelming then the Menu du Chef is a great way to sample the restaurant’s signature dishes without breaking the bank – this three course set menu is priced at AED 199 per person.
