Brasserie Boulud is a classically styled French brasserie offering contemporary ‘gastronomie francaise’ rooted in tradition. This venture is the brain child of two Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud, famed for his restaurant DANIEL in New York City.
Boulud is famed for his more casual approach to fine dining. Instead of relying on trends and gimmicks, he is inspired by the French 'art de vivre' philosophy: the appreciation of the everyday things in life just as much as the finer things. This traditional attitude brings an authentic piece of France right to the heart of Dubai.
Brasserie Boulud offers a refined yet relaxed fine dining experience. Located on the second floor of Sofitel Dubai the Obelisk, the space is decorated in a modern art deco style using high quality materials and fine craftmanship. The neutral colour palette and ox-blood leather banquettes give the interior a feel of understated elegance, while the mirrored ceiling adorned with chandeliers leave guests feeling awestruck. The dining experience is taken to the next multi-sensory level with an open kitchen providing a full view of the chefs at work.
Brasserie Boulud’s menu focuses on traditional seasonal French dishes which ooze authenticity, with a sprinkle of Middle Eastern flavours. A glance over the menu shows many familiar names; escargots de Bourgogne, fois gras, vol au vent de la mer and beef tartare, to name a few. There’s even a burger on offer, smothered in raclette cheese - a bold choice for a gourmet restaurant. While a simple affair, this menu packs a punch, without relying on frills and pretension to do so.
Dessert also keeps it traditional, offering crème brulee, tarte tatin, chocolate profiteroles, chocolate fondant and cheese. Brasserie Boulud has an extensive and carefully chosen wine list, as well as an array of cocktails, spirits, whisky, and several beer options.
