It’s pretty well known by now that Dubai is a fabulous spot for brunch. With so many brunch spots ranging from boozy bottomless affairs in luxury skyscrapers, to hearty homecooked meals by the water, it’s almost impossible for a brunch-focused eatery to stand out from the crowd. However, this is exactly what boho-chic global chain Brunch & Cake manages to do.
Originally started in Barcelona, Brunch & Cake Al Wasl site was the brand’s first flagship store outside of Spain. Here you’ll find Instagrammable produce-driven meals, always vibrant and featuring some sort of healthy twist.
Brunch & Cake at Al Wasl presents an ultra-inviting interior with some serious signature boho vibes. This space is bathed in natural light, casting a warm glow over the generous portions of ‘grandma’s goodness’. Wicker chairs and cream cushions create a palette of beiges and neutrals with vibrant green pops of colour from foliage and house plants dotted around the venue.
Wholesome food prepared using quality ingredients, authentic recipes and organic produce are the focus here. The menu features many dishes from the original Barcelona menu, as well as additional options added to accommodate the brand’s new community. Here you can find many traditional brunch options elevated, through unconventional additions or presentation. Shakshouka is served in a bowl made of pizza dough accompanied by garlic butter lobster and macademia nuts, homemade nachos are served with mango and strawberries, and eggs benedict is served on a sweetcorn waffle and presented on top of a spade
There’s also an entirely separate plant-based menu, in addition to the vegetarian and vegan options on the main menu. More than what it says on the tin, Brunch & Cake’s aim is simple; to serve up healthy, wholesome and visually appealing dishes in an environment that’s welcoming to everyone.
