With its unique title as Abu Dhabi’s first authentic churrascaria, Chamas is a bright and buzzy spot to enjoy a Brazilian meal with friends, family or colleagues.
Set within the luxurious surrounds of the InterContinental hotel, the décor here is as sumptuous as you would expect. The floor is a huge expanse of black marble while the tables are generously spaced to allow for quiet, private conversations, and there’s a sweeping staircase down to the main restaurant area from the bar. With leather seats and wooden tables, the aesthetic is very much classically high-end.
As with other such restaurants the offering here sees a vast salad bar on display that gives you a self-service option to help yourself to as much of the tempting dishes on offer as you please. Following on from this you will have the choice of 16 sizzling meats to try, with cuts being sliced straight from the traditional barbecue skewers to your plate, tableside. There are various packages on offer including a less expensive option for children. For the grown-ups you can pick between a deal that excludes drinks, one that only allows for soft drinks or various alcohol options that work upwards from house beer and wine, through unlimited caipirinhas to Champagne.
Service is friendly and efficient, so don’t hesitate to ask the waiting staff for something in particular if there is a dish you fancy but can’t see on offer.
Once you’ve surrendered to your appetite and have filled up on the all-you-can-eat selection, move upstairs to enjoy the stunning views of Abu Dhabi’s marina from the bar – the perfect spot to watch the sun go down. Here the team are well used to being able to shake up some of the city’s best cocktails, with options from classics to modern iterations all on offer. Why not challenge the mixologists with a request?
