Gaia is a stunning Greek restaurant, located near the Emirates Towers in the heart of the Trade Centre district of Dubai. The restaurant is a modern and bright, refined version of a traditional Mediterranean taverna. Gaia manages to encapsulate the spirit of nature and Greek history with its stunning design.
The interior is clean and fresh, with lots of light highlighting the chic architecture of the restaurant. There are notes of tan wooding and lush greenery against a stark backdrop of minimalist white walls. Grecian pots and other treasures line the shelves as a nod to its major influences.
Gaia isn’t just a pretty restaurant though, the warm hospitality and home-grown food serve to embody a whole lifestyle. Culinary expert chef Izu Ani and chef Orestis Kotefas champion the simplicity of home cooking and fresh ingredients in their creative kitchen. Every superb dish reflects its Greek origins, but with a contemporary flourish to elevate the Mediterranean inspired flavours.
The menu boasts the traditional Green taverna staples of fresh salads, wholesome platters of moussaka and spanakopita, and tangy dips of taramasalata. There is a raw menu that highlights the fresh seafood available, including sea bass ceviche, oysters, and smoke tuna carpaccio with a black truffle dressing. The elegant restaurant also features fish specials of the day, which are freshly delivered. The mains menu reads like a Mediterranean food dream, boasting the likes of lobster, octopus, and lamb cutlets. Feasting at Gaia is a hearty affair, and you will easily embrace Grecian culture as you sip on specially imported island wines.
For a more exclusive experience, book the secluded Chef’s Table on the lower level of the restaurant, right by the theatre of the kitchen. The private dining experience comfortably seats twelve guests, for a specially curated menu by the expert chefs.
