One of the great things about Dubai is that you can find pretty much any cuisine from around the world here, so if you have any particularly niche cravings, they’re likely to be satisfied. If you’ve found yourself hankering after a good old gastropub, look no further than Hamilton’s which serves up British pub grub alongside a few American classics too.
Found at Saadiyat resort (it’s the first gastropub concept to open on Saadiyat Island), and championing the motto of ‘good food, good drinks, good fun’, Hamilton’s is far slicker than your usual British boozer, fitted out with contemporary interiors that include a central bar topped with a mahogany wood counter, industrial-chic fixtures and long communal tables.
Open from lunchtime, the menu at Hamilton’s comprises of a selection of small plates, sharing cheese and meat boards and staple pub dishes such as beer-battered cod and chips with mushy peas, or bangers and mash. If you’re not too keen on tradition though, there’s no need to worry as Hamilton’s has plenty of international menu options too, including small plates of burrata or halloumi fries. There are also some fun customisable options, such as a build you own mac ‘n’ cheese where you can top your pasta dish with the likes of beef Bolognese and barbecue pulled chicken, as well as sausages (lamb merguez, spicy chicken chorizo) which are served by the metre.
On the drinks side of things, all of the usual suspects are present and correct – think beers and cocktails, alongside wines and Champagnes served by the glass or bottle. A fun soundtrack adds to the atmosphere, while you can also catch sports games being livestreamed on the pub’s plasma television screens.
Make sure to ask the bar staff about Hamilton’s special nights for any return visits, as the gastropub boasts a packed calendar of events. There’s a daily happy hour from 4-7pm when you can enjoy 50% off on selected drinks, as well as monthly promotions which mean you can enjoy some of Hamilton’s signature dishes at a discounted rate.
