Armani/Hashi is a contemporary Japanese restaurant which is part of the luxury hotel designed by high-fashion brand Armani.
The restaurant is a sleek affair, with the dining room featuring bottle green leather tub chairs, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a curved chef’s counter that stretches across half of the room where you can watch the team of highly-skilled chefs at work. There are some subtle nods to the restaurant’s Japanese identity too, including a bamboo wall which sits behind the chef’s counter.
A resident DJ who plays a foot-tapping modern soundtrack adds to the lively atmosphere, while Arman/Hashi also benefits from a charming outdoor terrace. The al fresco space, where you can have drinks or enjoy your dinner, also overlooks the iconic Dubai Fountain, where you can catch the regular light shows which include ‘dancing’ water fountains which are synchronised to the music.
Armani/Hashi’s menu is replete with innovative modern takes on traditional Japanese cuisine, with the dishes making use of high-quality fish which is flown in daily. Kick-start your meal with a selection of sushi, with rolls available to try including salmon, tuna belly and crispy soft shell crab.
Next up, try small plates such as beef gyoza and scallop ceviche topped with caviar, before moving on to more substantial dishes, including a hearty Wagyu rib eye steak topped with foie gras and served alongside seaweed in a truffle teriyaki sauce. If you want to keep things lighter, opt for one of the salads instead; choose from a tofu salad or the Watarigani, which features soft shell crab and duck breast with avocado, tomatoes and XO sauce.
To finish, tuck into indulgent desserts such as three scoops of different mochi ice cream or a warm chocolate molten cake topped with miso popcorn and served alongside a scoop of banana ice cream.
