Housed inside Sofitel Dubai – The Palm, Hoong Loong serves authentic Pan Asian cuisine with influences from South East Asia. Its unique dining room and exciting fusion dishes make it a great spot for an intimate dinner date or special occasion meal with friends, while a children’s menu ensures that families are catered for, too.
The main dining room boasts a royal colour palette of deep reds and golds which gives the space a luxurious yet striking feel. Red lanterns hang from the ceiling and cast a warm glow over the space, while mahogany flooring and furniture are finished with crimson flourishes, from the napkins to the placemats.
The food menu span appetisers, mains, sides and desserts and you can easily hop from China to Thailand to Malaysia with a just a handful of dishes. To start, look out for things like sesame seared tuna with pickled daikon and cucumber, miso dressing and coriander oil if Japanese food is your favourite, while a satay selection will send you to Indonesia (culinarily speaking) and black pepper shrimp takes inspiration from Chinese cuisine.
Main dishes, meanwhile, include a range of Asian-inspired favourites, such as peking duck with homemade duck sauce, cucumber and steamed pancakes, prawn nyonya laksa in a spiced coconut broth, sweet and sour chicken with peppers, pineapple, sesame seeds and spring onions and massaman lamb shank. Save room for dessert where things like mango sticky rice and salted peanut nougat satay are sure to entice.
The drinks list features wines by the glass or bottle with grape varieties from across the globe. A range of spirits, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks are also available.
