Lana Lusa is a cosy, welcoming all-day Portuguese restaurant in the Wasl 51 complex, serving everything from coffee and pastries in the morning, to elegant, comforting Portuguese classics through lunch and dinner.
The pretty restaurant is a lovely spot to hang out in, thanks to abundant foliage, a bright, organic colour palette and a large covered terrace, which is extremely popular during the day. Lana Lusa really has a feel of authentic Portugal - even tableware and decor has been carefully sourced, with bright, colourful crockery and copper light fittings coming from Portugal.
Meanwhile the menu focuses on classic, approachable Portuguese cooking. Hot and cold starters include dishes such as marinated sardines, octopus salad, shrimp croquettes and Prego - a traditional Portuguese beef sandwich. As you might expect there’s a huge range of seafood on the menu, and the availability and quality of seafood around Dubai translates well to Portuguese cooking. Main courses include a signature seafood rice, roasted octopus with crushed potatoes, and sharing dishes like a grilled piri-piri chicken, or mixed seafood with potatoes.
Portuguese desserts are unmissable and Lana Lusa has all the classics on offer, from a slice of egg flan to a bolo de bolacha cookie, and pasteis de nata in four different flavours - classic, Nutella, blueberry and raspberry.
On the drinks front, Lana Lusa specialises in sangrias, but also offers a small range of wines, sparkling wines and beers. The restaurant also serves a range of soft drinks, and there are various coffees and teas available throughout the day - not just the usual offerings, but also iced vanilla and matcha lattes, homemade iced teas, and mocktails like the Lusa Spritz (cucumber water, rose water and non-alcoholic Champagne).
