Manna Land Dubai, located not far from the Etihad Museum, has a pretty unique dual offering. Rather than attempt to fuse the two cuisines, the restaurant instead offers two separate menus; one Korean, the other Japanese. Each menu is pretty extensive too, with numerous dishes to choose from. The restaurant has won numerous awards for its authentic dishes, and is a great place to catch up with old friends or spend the evening working your way through the menus. Food is the focus here, and as such the interiors are quite pared-back. However, smiley staff and delicious food create a buzzy atmosphere regardless.
In the Korean section, you'll find an enormous selection of pretty much every Korean dish we know. Classic dishes like bibimbap, dak galbi and kimchi jjigae all make appearances, as do more unusual dishes. For seafood lovers, the jjambong is a must, featuring mussels, prawns and squid atop a fiery soup and udon noodles. For sharing, the kimbap are ideal, filled with rice, vegetables and crab, then sliced into bite-size rounds. Korean fried chicken is some of the best in the world, and the offering here is pretty close to perfect. Try the bbq, honey glazed or sweet and sour versions - you won't be disappointed.
In the Japanese section, meanwhile, you can start things off with a classic appetiser like agedashi tofu, spicy edamame or chicken yakitori. The sushi selection, however, is enormous. Choose from rolls like carlifornia, crunchy shrimp, karashi, spicy prawn, rainbow, spicy tuna, dragon, unagi, beef, chicken, smoked salmon, garden or the chef's special. There are plenty of nigiri, gunkan, chirashi and sashimi selections too. If you can't decide, we recommend opting for one of the platters, as they feature all of the highlights. The party sushi platter in particular is a great combo of all different types of sushi.
