Go back into the region’s culinary history, understand the changes that have occurred over time, and find the gastronomic treasures by sublimating them with modern techniques. This is the mission statement at Ninive, and the restaurant lives up to its ambitions. Convivial and elegant, its cuisine is served on crockery created especially for the venue by potters, suited to the refined tastes of a clientele addicted to excellence.
The restaurant is an oasis in the midst of busy, sweltering Dubai, offering up a place of relaxation, elegance and community. With shaded canopies, glowing lanterns, and cushioned lounged-seating, the restaurant's terrace is a place to indulge in a fusion of culinary expertise. It does not revisit the past but revives sometimes-forgotten tastes to a region with powerful culinary traditions. The dishes are from all over the Middle East and North Africa: Iranian, Iraqi, Turkish and Moroccan. The dining experience is bolstered by the waiting staff who bring expertise and historical facts about the venue and its dishes.
In traditional Middle-Eastern style, a selection of cold and hot mezze makes up the starters alongside salads containing halloumi, pomegranate, quinoa and spiced mango. Moving onto mains, diners can opt for classic tagines or go bold with the lobster tagine to experience the gastronomic journey the menu takes you through. Fresh off the grill are the highly-desired wagyu beef dishes; either ribs or a tenderloin which offers diners the chance to experience fine quality wagyu beef alongside Moroccan flavours.
Guests can also pair skewers with a selection of couscous and sides including saffron-flavoured rice, roasted new potatoes or simple grilled vegetables.
Middle Eastern and North African flavours continue into the dessert menu with traditional baklava, frozen yoghurt and a hazelnut caramel Mouhalabieh.
