Sahn Eddar is housed in the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel, the beautiful five star hotel that sits out proudly from the beach on its own mini island. The sail-style skyscraper has become a symbol for Dubai’s luxurious hospitality industry and this restaurant is in keeping with the hotel’s overall high end feel.
This family-friendly restaurant is perfect for filling up at, at any point in the day, and despite being less formal than some other restaurants in the building it still feels high end. Meaning ‘reception of the house’ in Arabic Sahn Eddar is an airy, open space that is open for breakfast right through to dinner, when it closes at 11pm.
If you arrive in time for breakfast you’ll be able to enjoy dishes like herby scrambled eggs, a spicy tomato shakshuka or a platter of seasonal fruits. There is also a traditional Indian breakfast and a full French spread which both include a line up of delicious dishes. The Parisian Continental menu features fresh bread and pastries warm from the oven, while the Indian breakfast comes with flaky paratha bread, yogurt and lime pickles.
The all day dining offering spans the globe, and is perfect for a laid back lunch or dinner with friends and family. Choose from salads and sandwiches for a light meal, or plump for a rich chicken biryani if you’re feeling hungry.
Afternoon tea is a further draw here, with everyone’s favourite scones, sandwiches and pastries present and correct, and served on beautiful three-tiered stands, accompanied by your choice of tea.
With huge glass windows wrapping round the whole room, wherever you look you’ll be able to soak up stunning views of lush palm trees in the gardens below, and the city beyond. There's a tinkling water feature in the space which provides a relaxing background soud, while live music performances aren't uncommon.
There is a minimum spend of AED 200 per person and there is a smart casual dress code, so they are both points to keep in mind while dining here.
