On the lower ground floor of the vast Dubai Mall, in the Star Atrium, you'll find Social House. This all-day international eatery boasts outdoor space overlooking the Dancing Fountains and Burj Khalifa, stylish interiors and a huge menu of delicious food from all over the world. Grab a table, sit at the sushi bar or dine under the stars - the choice is yours. The interiors are primarily wood, with polished tables, produce-lined shelves and plants hanging from the ceiling.
Those starting their day at Social House can choose from smoothie and berry bowls, each packet with fruit, seeds and nutrients to give you a morning boost. Later in the day, however, the menu expands considerably. As such, your lunch or dinner might start with calamari, a mezze platter, duck spring rolls, chicken quesadillas or tomato soup. The main courses are similarly global, so expect everything from spicy braised lamb shanks to pollo al funghi on the menu. For a lighter bite, there are salads like a caesar, popcorn shrimp, quinoa and freekeh and a veggie poke bowl.
Like many of the mall's restaurants, pizza is on the menu, including meaty and veggie options, as well a Mexican-inspired nacho pizza with corn chips, jalapeno, grilled chicken, guacamole, sour cream and tomato salsa. For something more western, there are beef burgers, while katsu curry and the like are also available. Don't miss the sushi counter, which turns out rolls including spicy tuna, dragon, Philadelphia, popcorn shrimp, California and kamikaze. For the kids, there are plenty of choices, including burgers, mac and cheese, Margheritas, or fish and chips. Those looking to splash out, meanwhile, can sample oysters, served with cucumber, tomato, red onion salsa and tabasco. Finish with a decadent dessert like chocolate cake, apple crumble pie or a pile of Nutella profiteroles.
