Swing through the bright yellow doors of Weslodge and you'll find this chic, sky-high restaurant and bar is a modern interpretation of a classic American saloon diner, from the panelled cabinets and bar to steampunk light fittings and plush leather seating of the reception area.
Not only that, Weslodge is perched high above the city of the 68th floor of the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai - the world's tallest five star hotel. As a result, it boasts incredible views of the Dubai skyline, as well as iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and the cobalt seas of the Arabian Gulf.
Start off with smaller plates like a selection of burrata salads (olive oil, black pepper and lemon, peas, fava beans and mint, or roasted peaches, maple syrup and bourbon, for example), or raw dishes like tuna ceviche or beef tartare. Classic American salads like the chopped salad, shaved brussels sprout salad and an iceberg wedge with blue cheese are also available.
Mains revolve around meat, fish and poultry, and include dishes like herb-roasted chicken, whoel branzino, jumbo prawns, whole lobster and grilled lamb chops with red onion chimichurri. There are also a range of steaks available, all cooked on the grilled over hardwood, such as a 32oz porterhouse, a 16oz striploin, a 24oz T-bone and a 40oz ribeye.
As well as the daily a la carte, Weslodge also offers a brunch menu on Saturdays, where it serves classic brunch dishes like eggs benedict, buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and fried chicken and waffles.
Weslodge’s cocktails are presented in the same manner as their award-winning North American dishes. Their innovative cocktails all use house-made ingredients, and are served to an upbeat soundtrack of old school hip hop, 1980s classics, rock and American beats.
