If you’ve yet to discover the beauty of Belgian cuisine, this authentic Belgian Café in Dubai’s Festival City is sure to show you the light. Boasting the title of the city’s original Belgian Café, this vintage style, split level restaurant offers a range of traditional dishes alongside a lengthy draught and bottled beer list.
Decked out in rustic wooden décor, the venue features a large bar counter serving a range of hops on tap, as well as an expansive outdoor terrace area with views of the city’s skyline. At its core though, is a menu featuring plenty of classic Belgian pub grub. Here, you’ll find premium mussel dishes, ‘hoppetizers’, soups, sandwiches, grills and more. Alongside classic moules mariniere, discover a number of twists-on-a-classic including a Thai version, a Greek option with feta and seafood, and a punchy twist made with blue cheese. All are, of course, served with Belgian frites.
For a tasty lunch, options include a steak sandwich with mustard sauce, caramelised onions, gherkins and cheddar, croque monsieur and a Belgian endive salad made with blue cheese, pears, candied pecans, cranberry and a maple and mustard dressing. While more substantial mains include a Belgian beef brisket stew, chicken ragout with veal meatballs and mushrooms, and confit of duck leg with apple and puy lentils. For dessert, an array of Belgian waffles is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Guests are able to choose from a large range of bottled and draught beers, from pale ales to dark malt varieties. There is also a list of ‘hoppetizers’ which are designed to be enjoyed with your choice of beer, from fried camembert to crispy calamari. Elsewhere, spirits, wines, cocktails and mocktails complete the drinks list.
