Bosporus is inspired by the bridge connecting two different parts of the nation, which is built across the world's narrowest natural strait - Bosporus. Hoping to connect the people of the UAE with the Ottoman cuisine of Turkey, this is a restaurant on a mission to become the UAE’s go to choice for Turkish food. The interior sets the tone for this authentic experience, with colourful patterns, gold accents across the interior, and a mixture of tiles and carpeting.Flavours are paramount here, with many of the dishes involving slow cooked meats, garlic dips, and lightly spiced kebabs. Think mezze plates like hummus, muhammara and steamed vine leaves, as well as things like Pide’s - which are Turkish flatbreads topped with a tomato or white sauce, and a variety of meat or vegetarian toppings. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Turkish restaurant without a selection of kebabs - and Bosporus doesn’t disappoint on this front. With the more classic kebabs like chilli minced lamb served on lavash bread with some bulgur rice, with also lesser known ones like Beyti kebab, which is minced lamb meat wrapped in a spicy bread and served with yoghurt and iskender sauce. Then for those with a sweet tooth, expect LOTS of baklava (of course), as well as variations of Kúnefe pastry with different toppings like ice cream, pistachio and melted chocolate.Of course if you like to be extravagant, then you’ll be pleased to know that there is a gold coated version of most things on the menu. Gold covered baklava? Got it. One metre Adana Kebab completely encompassed in gold leaf? Of course. There’s even a gold burger… Bosporus pride themselves on their knowledge of Turkish cuisine, but they clearly know a thing or two about the Dubai crowd as well.
