Located within the 25hours Hotel, Monkey Bar is a lively destination serving tiki themed cocktails alongside an international food menu. This rooftop bar offers impressive views of the Museum of the Future and Zabeel Park from its outdoor terrace, and is an ideal spot for early evening drinks and light snacks while watching the sunset before heading inside for music and dancing. The jungle décor theme features monkey murals, an emerald tiled bar and greenery draped from the ceiling, creating a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere.
There are several signature innovative cocktails highlighting unique jungle flavours, like the Pandan Colada, a concoction of plantation pineapple rum, coconut, pandan, pineapple and lime, and the Banana Old Fashioned, a blend of bumbu rum, banana liquor, amontillado sherry, jaggery and bitters. If you’d prefer to keep it simple, there is a good wine and fizz list with several available by the glass, as well as an extensive spirit selection including a notable number of tequilas, and some highly sought after mezcals. Head down to Monkey Bar on the weekend and you’ll be treated to an evening of live music and beats from the resident and guest DJs.
The food menu is modest and features popular international and Latin-American dishes, designed to complement the drinks menu. Nibble on light bites such as guacamole with corn tortilla chips, asparagus and seaweed maki or crispy truffle croquettes with turmeric mayo. For something more substantial, try one of the sandwiches like the Peruvian empanada, pulled chicken bao or cheesy sliders with pulled beef, onion marmalade and gruyere. There are also three options from the grill: soy marinated beef with chimichurri, aji marinated chicken with huancaina sauce or vegetable skewers with mojo verde. Finish with churros coated in cinnamon sugar or tres leches with coconut, passionfruit and caramel crumbs.
