Paper Fig Restaurant and Dessert Shop is a café and restaurant in the city of Sharjah that specialises in artisan desserts and freshly-made savoury dishes. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and located a short 30-minute drive from Dubai, Paper Fig is a great all-day option if you’re exploring the area and fancy a more relaxed style of dining with a friendly atmosphere.
The restaurant was set up by husband-and-wife duo Nawal Alnuaimi and Ahmed Almazrouei who together launched and expanded the brand. Nawal is the foodie and creative brains behind the enterprise, while Ahmed heads up the business side of things.
Guests can opt to dine in or takeaway, while the restaurant also offers special catering for events. The restaurant itself is a bright and relaxing space flooded with lots of natural light and boasting hanging pot plants, exposed filament bulb lighting, small wooden tables, comfortable blue and pink cushions and book-lined statement shelves. There is also a small wooden alfresco terrace to the rear of the restaurant.
An ever-changing menu rotates seasonally, but expect plenty of expertly-crafted cakes, beautiful brunch plates and crowd-pleasing savoury options. With its instagrammable breakfast plates, from fluffy sauce-drenched pancakes to avocado on toast, eggs benedict and homemade pastries, it’s a popular spot for brunching throughout the week. Wash it down with a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice, one of its signature teas or beautiful coffees (latte art mandatory).
When it comes to lunch, options might include cheese toasties, filled croissants as well as a selection of vibrant salads, while hot plates span everything from burgers to pasta bowls.
Paper Fig’s catering menu allows you to order a selection of its signature dishes to your office, home or for an event. Paper Fig’s home menu, for example, offers family-sized dishes such as mushroom alfredo pasta or lemon chicken, while mini tarts and sandwiches trays are well suited to office lunches.
