The Shai Salon & Terrace is where you’ll find afternoon tea at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. This enormous hotel is home to 12 different restaurant and bar offerings, each with their own unique style and menu. The Shai Salon is just as impressive as the rest, featuring stunning palatial high ceilings and marble columns, as well as a series of plush armchairs to sink into as you’re enjoying the all-day menu, afternoon tea or just a casual coffee with a friend.
This is one of the all-day restaurants at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, so the menu has been designed to cater to all sorts of different people and times of day. If you’re stopping by for a bite to eat you’ll find the menu has a broad international theme, with dishes including a cold mezze selection, fried calamari with chipotle mayonnaise, a range of fresh salads, soups, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas and crowd-pleasing international main courses.
Arguably the main attraction at Shai Salon & Terrace is the afternoon tea, which is overseen by acclaimed French pastry chef Nicolas Lambert. Lambert has received various awards during his time at the Four Seasons, including the 2021 Hotel and Catering Pastry Chef Excellence Award and 2022 Pastry Chef of the Year by Gault & Millau UAE.
The Shai Salon afternoon tea starts with classic sandwiches, like egg mayonnaise in brioche roll with truffle, and cucumber and mint on white bread, before intricate pastries arrive - chestnut sable with blackcurrant coulis, maple biscuit, pear marmalade and pecan glaze, and vanilla and apple choux flan, for example. Finish off with freshly baked scones, as well as pecan caramel cookies. Naturally, Shai Salon also offers a wide range of fine loose leaf teas, as well as Champagne and Prosecco.
