A sibling to the London original, Geales Dubai is a smart seafood restaurant, lounge and bar found in the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort.
The restaurant’s interiors blend the traditional with the contemporary, thanks to cosy banquette seating and a large central bar, which are paired with industrial-chic pendant lighting and brass accents. There are some fun nods to the restaurant’s British heritage too, including pillows printed with a monochrome version of the Union Jack flag.
Geales menu is a celebration of seafood, with the daily fish market being a particularly special touch – here, you can pick from a selection of freshly caught fish and shellfish to enjoy at your table, with the quantity, cooking method and sauces used all being left up to you to decide. If you’d rather order from the regular à la carte, you can choose from a range of traditional British seafood dishes such as hearty fish pies, beer-battered cod and chips, and pots of mussels.
There are some more internationally inspired dishes available too though, such as prawn dumplings, seafood tagliatelle and a stacked burger which uses a patty made from Japanese Wagyu beef. If you’re visiting Geales for a special occasion, we’d recommend dining from the five- or six-course tasting menus, while those who aspire to be in the Geales hall of fame can try their hand at the epic fish and chip challenge. This monstrous task involves polishing off 1kg of battered cod alongside steak-cut chips, mushy peas and baked beans all by yourself. Finish the feast in less than 40 minutes (without sharing or sneaking any under the table) to get your experience free of charge, instead of the usual price of 300 AED.
Geales also boasts a packed schedule of events and special nights each week to keep the guests coming back. On Tuesdays, you can enjoy Geales signature fish and chips with a drink for a discounted price, while Saturdays are all about the family brunch, with lots of activities to keep mini diners entertained – think face paints, craft stations and bouncy castles!
