Liang at the Mandarin Oriental is a restaurant serving authentic Chinese cuisine in an opulent, Asian-inspired setting.

‘Liang’ means moon in Chinese, and the restaurant seeks to connect Qatar and China through the emphasis of the importance of the moon in both cultures’ traditions. Liang's menu has a focus on Cantonese cuisine while also incorporating select provincial dishes from around China. The restaurant seeks to serve the most authentic Chinese food possible.

Menu standouts include the wok-fried lobster and the Peking-style black Angus beef ribs. Desserts on offer include deep-fried custard-filled sesame balls and caramelised banana fritters. Liang also has an extensive wine list and serves a selection of Chinese teas. Liang offers a ‘Mini Fan’ menu for children too, perfect if you're dining out with the whole family.

Dinner at Liang features live performances of Chinese traditions, including the famous La Mian performance, in which skilled chefs transform a mound of dough into hundreds of strands of long thin noodles in just minutes. There is also a traditional tea performance by a certified Sichuan tea master, in which a traditional long spout teapot is used in a fusion of traditional dance and martial arts.
