Acclaimed British chef Heston Blumenthal has not just one, but two brand new projects taking up residence at Atlantis The Royal. Dinner by Heston is a restaurant known the world over - alongside the chef’s famous three Michelin-starred Fat Duck - as a place that explores the history of food, as well as a restaurant that plays with the senses, delivering mind-bending dishes that trick the eyes.
Resonance by Heston Blumenthal is a bar not a restaurant, but the chef’s plan is still to delight visitors with otherworldly, multisensory drinks and snacks. Ultimately, the idea is to deliver memorable experiences with a dose of theatre, and that all starts with the interiors. A long centrepiece bar is made to appear as though built of stacked gold plates - guests can take a stool at the bar or sit themselves on one of the many lounge sofas around the room if they’d rather have a table. Underlit shelves behind the bar hold a huge array of different spirits and drinks, and behind that is a giant 6.5 metre high aquarium which holds 4,000 moon jellyfish - supposedly the largest jellyfish aquarium in the world.
The resort is also home to Dinner by Heston - Blumenthal’s restaurant, which holds two Michelin stars in London. Guests can visit Resonance for a pre- or post-dinner drink if they also have a booking in the restaurant and make the evening a total commitment to multisensory dining, drinking and theatre.
Atlantis The Royal is a resort on the crescent of The Palm, sitting next to sister resort Atlantis The Palm. The hotel boasts 43 storeys of luxurious rooms, venue spaces, entertainment and hospitality, and has gathered together a collection of some of the world’s most celebrated chefs, including the likes of Heston Blumenthal, Gaston Acurio and Jose Andres.
